This started in 2017 as freelance work: one developer, a handful of founders who needed something built properly, and no marketing budget. Every project after the first came from someone who had worked with us before or was told to.
That is a slow way to grow a company. It is also why we still have the habits that came with it. We scope work we can actually deliver, we say no to projects that need a bigger team than we have, and we write code the next person can read, because for years that next person was us.
We are now taking that work international. Not because the referral model stopped working, but because the products worth building stopped being local.
What you are probably worried about
- You get an account manager, not the people building it.
- You talk to whoever is writing the code. There is no delivery-manager layer, because there is no team large enough to need one.
- The timezone gap means a day lost on every question.
- We hold a fixed overlap window with European and US mornings. Questions asked in your working day get answered in it, not the next one.
- Who owns the code when it is finished?
- You do, in full, from the first commit. Ownership transfers on payment and it is written into the contract, not assumed.
- The estimate will double halfway through.
- Fixed-scope work is quoted after a paid discovery, not before. If we cannot scope it confidently, we say so rather than guessing and repricing later.

How the work actually runs.
Four stages. You can stop at the end of any cycle and keep everything built so far.
- 1 to 2 weeks, paid
Discovery
We work out what you are actually building and what it will cost. You leave with a written scope and a fixed quote, whether or not you continue with us.
- Two-week cycles
Build
Working software at the end of every cycle, in an environment you can open. No status decks, no percentage-complete estimates.
- Before every launch
Hardening
Load, security and edge cases. The unglamorous pass that decides whether launch week is quiet or not.
- On delivery
Handover
Repository, infrastructure, documentation and a walkthrough with whoever inherits it. You should be able to leave us and keep running.
Three ways to work with us.
Most of our work sits behind an NDA.
Nine years of client projects, almost all of it under agreements that do not allow a public write-up. We are putting case studies together with the clients who have said yes. Until those are live, the honest answer is to ask, and we will walk you through relevant work directly.
Products
Built under our own name.
Client projects and the template catalog are built to someone else’s brief. These are not. They are funded by the studio, they carry the NowMagnate name, and they are where an idea gets tested on us before it is ever quoted to anyone else.
JobMagnate
AI-matched jobs for candidates
A job search that reads a role the way a person would. Instead of matching on keywords and throwing back everything that contains them, it works from what the job actually asks for and what a candidate has actually done, so the shortlist is short and the roles on it are ones worth applying to.

The solo unicorn OS
A desktop workspace where a dedicated AI agent runs each part of a business: sales, support, finance, operations, the lot. The agents carry the work end to end and coordinate with each other rather than waiting to be prompted, and they escalate only the calls that genuinely need a person, so one owner can run what used to need a team.
